There’s nothing more fun than catching up with good friends and finding out their lives are peachy, which is precisely what happened the weekend of the launch of Head Over Heels when we caught up with two of the best raconteurs on the planet, Anne Buist (author of the awesome Natalie King crime series) and her husband Graeme Simsion. (author of The Rosie Project).
Anne and Graeme were celebrating the UK launch of the novel they’d written together, Two Steps Forward, so it was a party all around.
One of the highlights of the evening was finding out Anne—an eminent psychiatrist—had reviewed California Dreaming and had given it her stamp of approval. (George was very chuffed.) The other highlight was seeing the amazing place the guys had rented near Edinburgh Castle. It was all medieval ceilings and décor and we really felt like we were sitting somewhere in the 16thcentury drinking bubbly while talking toot.
The rest of our time in Edinburgh was spent researching for the second novel in our Scottish Secrets series and going to an absolutely brilliant gig by the band Public Service Broadcasting, which has now inspired a scene in I Want Candy, the second novel in the Texas Hill Country series. We can’t wait to share it with you next year!
